About

Sustainable Coastal Solutions

For over 30 years, Sustainable Coastal Solutions, Inc. (Coastal Solutions) personnel have been assisting government agencies with coastal resiliency issues ranging from project planning, engineering design, environmental permitting, and implementation. State-of-science tools, including physical processes and water quality numerical models, as well as GIS applications, are used to effectively support client needs for the development of sustainable and resilient coastal projects. Coastal Solutions provides extensive experience from engineers and scientists who understand project constraints, innovative and environmentally appropriate technologies, and environmental regulatory issues. All members of Coastal Solutions’ engineering staff have Masters Degrees in Civil/Marine Engineering specializing in coastal processes modeling and analyses, shore protection design, and coastal zone management. Our staff routinely utilizes numerical modeling tools to evaluate estuarine and coastal processes to support development of management strategies aimed at sustainable outcomes for our clients. Our estuarine and coastal processes numerical modeling skills are extensive and include the full range of analysis tools necessary to address coastal environmental concerns including, but not limited to, Delft3D, CMS, Mike21, SWAN, STWAVE, EXODUS (an in-house one-line shoreline change model), and XBeach. Understanding that numerical model results are only as valid as the data utilized to parameterize the input and calibrate/validate the output, Coastal Solutions prides itself on a data-driven modeling approach that ensures results reflect real-world conditions.
